Mr Mike Hart is a senior lecturer and honorary consultant neurosurgeon at St George’s, University of London and St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He has been in the speciality for over 15 years.
He specialises in all aspects of general neurosurgery (including trauma, CSF disorders, and spinal surgery) with a specialist interest in all aspects of functional neurosurgery (surgical treatment of pain, movement disorders, epilepsy, spasticity, and neuromodulation).
His work forms part of one of the most active functional neurosurgery departments in the UK being personally involved in over 150 operative cases per year and over 600 outpatient visits.
He is involved in the devices committee of the MHRA, as research and development lead for the British Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (BSSFN), on the functional neurosurgery panel of the European Association of Neurological Surgeons (EANS), and as Scientific Advisor to The Epilepsy Institute. He has completed Bond Solon training in relation to report writing and his work includes both Claimant and Defendant instructions.
