Mr Singh qualified from the University of Manchester in 2003 and undertook his surgical training in Sydney and Edinburgh before joining the national neurosurgery training programme in Northwest England (Manchester and Preston).

During his training I completed a PhD in cerebral ischaemia and brain inflammation after subarachnoid haemorrhage and also an MSc in Healthcare Leadership. After becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, he undertook subspecialist fellowship training in paediatric neurosurgery at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada followed by the brain tumour fellowship at St George’s Hospital, London to learn techniques including awake surgery and brain mapping.

He has been a consultant adult and paediatric neurosurgeon at St George’s Hospital since 2018 and is also an associate director of medical education for the Trust and lead for training in neurosurgery.

He is on the Neurosurgery Specialist Advisory Committee, a member of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and European Association of Neurosurgical Societies and a question writer for the FRCS examination in neurosurgery.

He has completed the Excellence in Report Writing Bond Solon training and his work includes Claimant and Defendant instructions.

He performs approximately 200 operations per year and sees around 300 new and 600 follow up patients in clinic per year as well as being involved in the management of acute neurosurgical cases in a busy tertiary referral centre.

He takes instructions for a wide range of neurosurgical conditions.
